Mid-Century Modern Terrazzo Top Executive Desk from Playboy Offices in Chicago

$ 4,250.00 $ 5,750.00

This is a RARE piece designed by Chicago Artist/designer Daniel Czubak and custom-made for PlayBoy back in the 1960's (more information on Czubak at bottom of listing). This fantastic L-Shaped executive desk is all about presentation, elegantly simple and functional from the back while dramatic and imposing from the front. We discovered this desk in a Mid-Western warehouse, the owner had purchased it in a lot directly from Playboy when they relocated their editorial offices from Downtown Chicago to L.A. in 1989. Desk features a large 66" x 30" marble-like terrazzo work surface with inset, amber/brown glass aggregate that has been smoothed and polished. Top "floats" and cantilevers atop walnut-veneer cabinetry and gives the desk a wonderful architectural aesthetic. This look is complimented by a stepped-down return creating a terrific terraced effect. Return even features a hidden-door compartment for "reading" materials. She may completely lack any curves... But just look at those lines!

Measurements:

Desk: 66" L x 30" D x 29" T

Return: 46" L x 18.25" D x 26.5" T

Weight: We'll never tell

Interests: Holding stuff, starting conversations, and being the perfect Playboy "workmate".
